Small Business Saturday  is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after  US Thanksgiving  during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed in the United States on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to  Black Friday and  Cyber Monday , which feature  big box retail  and  e-commerce  stores respectively. Juneteenth Day Date When Celebrated:  Always on June 19 th Juneteenth day celebrates and symbolizes the end of slavery in the United States. President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862. It was not until June 19, 1865 that all slaves were finally freed. That concluding event was when General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas with his troops and issued Order Number 3 which finally freed the last of the slaves. International Sushi Day When : Always June 18 Something's fishy. That's because today is International Sushi Day. Sushi was created in Japan.It is a well known type of Japanese cuisine, but often isunderstood. Most of us think of sushi as a finger food containing raw fish. It certainly is a finger food.
